Dressing for an interview is stressful enough without adding summer heat into the mix. In fact, in a recent survey by Jazz HR, 71 percent of employers polled revealed that they would pass on a candidate that was “inappropriately dressed.” You don't have sweat to death in a stuffy suit to maintain dress code, however. Try one of these 12 summer-friendly styles to stay cool while looking qualified AF.
LPA Blazer 100 ($298): Stand out among the other candidates by ditching the standard black blazer for this head-turning floral version with jacquard embroidery.
Lovers + Friends Leslie Blazer ($188) and Kala Shorts ($118): Go for bold with the summer equivalent of a jacket and trousers in this bright-yet-professional two-piece set.
Loeffler Randall Mini Leather Shopper Tote ($295): This sleek leather pick is big enough to carry an extra resume — or two.
ASOS Design Ultimate Check Mini Tux Dress ($48): This tailored, double-breasted dress proves you don’t need a lot of bells and whistles to look stylish in an office setting.
Mango Bow-Printed Blouse ($60): A statement blouse is a tried-and-true interview staple. This one has some added flair with a polka-dot print and a bow-tie neck to show off your winning personality.
MICHAEL Michael Kors Croc-Print Eliza Pump ($135): You can’t go wrong with a classic slingback, and the bold green hue of these elevated pumps is sure to impress.
Premise Studio Ponte Pencil Skirt ($58): If style is a qualifying factor, this simple, stunning staple will help land you the gig.
Babaton Asim Blouse ($85): Invest in an impeccable shell that will elevate classic skirts or pants.
Tory Burch Sienna Bow Blouse ($298): This show-stopping top can be paired with a blazer and high-waisted pencil skirt to make a lasting first impression.
BCBG Cole Zipper-Back Vest ($198): A modern and seasonal spin on the work jacket comes in the form of this structured vest.
Textured Tweed Fringe Shift Dress ($149): The midi-length of this frock makes it plenty appropriate for the office without being stifling.
Express Mid-Rise Ruffle Pocket Columnist Ankle Pants ($80): The bright rose hue of these streamlined slacks will ensure your potential employer remembers your name long after your interview has ended.
