Watch Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton’s New Video for ‘Say Something’
Justin Timberlake’s futuristic music video for “Filthy,” the first single from his upcoming album, didn’t exactly scream “Man of the Woods.” But today, he released his “Say Something” video featuring country crooner Chris Stapleton, and we’re finally starting to get that woodsy vibe.
Though they’re not technically in a forest or any kind of lumberjack-worthy setting, both don flannel and denim as they make their way through the historic Bradbury Building, riding in elevators, wandering through halls, and navigating stairways — all while strumming their guitars and singing, “Sometimes the best way of saying something is to say nothing at all.”
When the two men finally meet, which happens more than halfway through the video, JT looks up to see the towering floors above them filled with people, who all begin to belt out the catchy tune.
In the live-performance video, directed by La Blogothèque, we not only get an example of mad coordination and on-point planning (seriously, how many times do you think they had to do this before they nailed it?!), but also a glimpse of what it’s like when the former *NSYNC member returns somewhat to his Nashville roots.
