Kaia Gerber’s First Tattoo Is Tiny but Powerful
Celebs will always be our go-to inspos for the latest (and usually greatest) tattoo trends. From Emma Roberts’s good luck charm on her thigh to Halsey’s surprisingly classy face tat, stars are becoming more and more creative with their ink by the minute. The latest to join the ranks of swoon-worthy celebrity tattoos is Kaia Gerber. The first-timer went under the needle to add dainty script to her bicep, effectively creating an ink trend we’re 100 percent on board with.

In a post on October 8, the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber captioned a selfie with, “Just coming on here to say I don’t think enough people talk about the weather these days.” Followers were quick to point out the new ink, the name Jordan, clearly visible on her arm. But who is Jordan, you ask? If you’re thinking a secret bae, guess again. It’s actually a reference to herself. The new face of YSL Beauty’s full name is Kaia, wait for it, Jordan Gerber.
At first it may seem silly for her to permanently stamp her middle name on her body, but many people are looking at it as an empowering statement of confidence. Take Page Six, for example, who speculates that this minimal tattoo is, in a sense, a celebration of self love. While Gerber herself has stayed mum in regards to her first-ever tat, we, like everyone else, can only assume that this delicate script is an ode to herself.
According to this Instagram post from October 6 by celebrity tattoo artist Rafael Valdez, Gerber’s tattoo session was a family affair. She brought along her brother Presley, who also ended up joining in on the ink-filled fun.
It looks like Presley — who has quite a few tats of his own — is sharing his love of ink with Kaia, considering she just debuted another mini tattoo on October 16, according to Vogue. In classic celebrity subtlety, she left a peek of a tiny rocket ship marked on her ankle via an Instagram story post.
2018 has been quite the year for the runway model: She was the apple of everyone’s eye during fashion month, she created a luxury capsule project with design legend Karl Lagerfeld, and graced two Vogue covers. Who knows what else she’ll spill out of her couture sleeves by the end of the year.
