Kate Hudson Just Welcomed a Baby Girl — Find Out Her Meaningful Family Name
Kate Hudson has a daughter! The actress announced Wednesday, October 3, that she welcomed her third child, and first with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, earlier this week. She also revealed the meaningful family name — Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa — they gave their little girl.
“She’s here,” Hudson wrote on Instagram, revealing that the baby girl was born on Tuesday, October 2.
“We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa,” she continued. “Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor. Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back.”
Hudson first revealed she was expecting back in April. “If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick! It was the most sick first trimester of all my children,” she explained at the time. “Boomerangs have made me nauseous, Superzoom is an easy way to have my head in the toilet, food Instagrams make me queasy, and thinking too much about Insta stories made me even more exhausted than I already had been.”
New baby Rani joins big brothers Ryder, 14, whom Hudson shares with ex-husband Chris Robinson (formerly of the band Black Crowes), and Bingham, 6, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy (of the band Muse).
Hudson and Fujikawa were first linked in December 2016, although the new parents first met 15 years before they started dating, a tidbit that was revealed when they celebrated their one-year anniversary in December 2017.
Congrats to the healthy and happy growing family!
