Fancy Girls, Get Ready for Kate Spade Activewear + Loungewear
It looks like the cozy girl style trend can lure even the most fancy-pants dressers among us to get comfy. Just six months after Kate Spade shut down its more casual, cool-girl counterpart, Kate Spade Saturday, the brand known for its elegant dresses and whimsical bags announced that it will be expanding to athleisure and loungewear next spring. We’re pretty sure we can forgive the flip-flopping if this news means a next-level pair of shower stall flip flops is in the cards.
According to WWD, Kate Spade will be collaborating with size-inclusive activewear brand Beyond Yoga to create a 16-piece limited-edition collection of fitness apparel that includes of-the-moment styles like a peekaboo bra, halter-bow camis and of course, leggings. We’re expecting beyond-the-gym pieces that are dolled up with the pops of color and those cheeky turns of phrase Kate Spade is known for (aka motivational tanks for days).
After you kick off your KS gym shoes and unzip your KS hoodie (we hope!), you’ll be able to slip into short and long pajamas, robes and chemises from Kate Spade’s brand-new loungewear line, which will also go beyond your everyday PJ party with a bridal-themed capsule collection. Our fingers are crossed for boudoir-feeling frills like delicate bralettes, panties in multiple shades of blue and — while we’re making our wishlist — vintage-style pom pom pumps.
While there’s no word on what the retail prices will be for either collection, which will be sold at select regional and specialty stores (and at boutique studio locations and online for the athleisure line only), we’re thinking, like the rest of Kate Spade’s offerings, these ditties won’t come cheap. But sometimes there’s no better motivation to hit the treadmill — or hit the hay (cue the binge-watching!) — than something luxe to snuggle up in.
Are you pumped for these new lines? Tell us what you’re hoping to see + snag in the comments below.
