Katharine McPhee and David Foster Are Engaged!
Katharine McPhee and David Foster are engaged! The actress’ rep confirmed to TMZ that the record producer proposed during the couple’s vacation to the Italian island of Capri.
McPhee also shared the news on Twitter by posting a diamond ring emoji along with a GIF of Ariana Grande saying, “And what about it?” She then took to Instagram to post a screenshot of a text conversation where she shared details about the proposal. “He did it at the top of this mountain in Anacapri,” she wrote. “Totally dark only stars.”
McPhee, 34, and Foster, 68, have been dating since last year. They first sparked relationship rumors after a PDA-filled date in Malibu. Then, in March, they attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party. And this past May, they made their red carpet debut at the 2018 Met Gala.
This will be McPhee’s second marriage. She was previously wed to Nick Cokas from 2008 to 2016. Foster has been married four times, to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, actress Linda Thompson, and Yolanda Hadid, the mother of Gigi and Bella Hadid. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star filed for divorce from Foster in January 2016, and they finalized their split in October 2017.
The following month, Foster’s daughters Erin and Sara talked with E! News about their dad’s relationship with McPhee. “We are really happy if our dad is happy,” Sara said. “We love Katharine McPhee. We love our dad. We want our dad to be happy.”
Erin added that their father is a “very young-at-heart kind of guy,” explaining, “Honestly, our friends in their twenties are trying to date him, so we’re just proud of him for not doing that. He’s like, ‘I draw the line there.’ I think thirties, forties is like a respectable age for a man in his sixties.”
