Katie Holmes Just Debuted Her Shortest Hairstyle Yet
Katie Holmes isn’t afraid of a change — a fact the The Kennedys: After Camelot actress made all too clear when she cut off her locks into the now famous chic bob she first donned back in 2008. She returned to the French-girl style in 2015 for the annual Met Gala, but now, she’s switched things up yet again, taking things one step further for her shortest cut yet.
The last time we saw the babely brunette, she was front row at NYFW for the CFDA x LIFEWTR designer showcase where she showed off a gorgeous wavy lob, but on Thursday, the Coup d’Etat actress stepped out with a (gasp!) uber-fierce pixie.
Though Suri’s mama tried to keep it under wraps with the help of an oversized black fedora, she was eventually forced to remove it to pass through security, giving paps the perfect shot of her newly shorn locks.
Cut to roughly the middle of her ears at the sides with a layered back and top, the hair chameleon had us doing a total double take.

While there’s no word on whether the style is for a role in her upcoming film Doorman, in which she’ll reportedly play a woman returned from combat who’s forced to use her skills to fight off a gang of thieves, or otherwise, we wouldn’t put it past Holmes, 38, to have chopped it on a whim — after all, as her stylist DJ Quintero told Us Weekly back in April, she’s been known to do just that. Her lob, for instance, was the result of a quick 15-minute cut she requested of him shortly before heading out the door to an event. “She said, ‘Let’s just cut it… I need a little change,’” he recalled to the outlet.
‘Atta girl, Katie!
