Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid Just Rocked Matching Pixie Haircuts
Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are no strangers to changing up their look for a runway — sometimes even together. The two swapped hair colors for Balmain back in March of 2016, and later that same year, they faced controversy when they both wore pastel dreadlocks for Marc Jacobs. Now, they’re at it again, sporting faux pixies for Tom Ford.
For the designer’s Spring/Summer 2018 show during New York Fashion Week, both models walked the runway with *much* shorter ‘dos, now cropped to just above the ear. A close-up of Hadid’s blonde locks gave us a glimpse at how stylist Orlando Pita achieved the appearance of a major chop without cutting a stitch of hair. “Tom wanted to cut all the girls’ hair off; this was my solution,” he told Vogue.
Instead, Pita says he gathered much of their length into twists, using his own Climate Change Humidity Blocking Hairspray ($28) to create textured, piecey strands that sparked serious hair envy in anyone watching the runway show. “That’s the point; we want to inspire you to actually cut off all your hair,” Pita quipped.
So will it inspire either supermodel to make a move for the shears? Jenner, for one, says the look reminded her of someone she’s rather close to: her mother, Kris Jenner. “I never really thought of it until now,” she reportedly said backstage. “But I do think I look a lot like my mother.”
