Kendall Jenner Gets Paid More for an Instagram Post Than You Do in a Year
Oh Instagram, how we love you so. Full of delicious meals, selfies and envy-inducing travel snaps, the social media network has quickly become a major part of our day. But as much as we think about what our next ultra-likeable post will be (we all do it, let’s be real here), each and every one is pro bono. However, if you’re Kendall Jenner, things work a little bit differently.
According to a report by CR Fashion Book, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevigne and Gigi Hadid are the three highest ranked supermodels on social media. What does that mean exactly? It means they’re getting paid up to $300,000 to post something on social media on a brand’s behalf. And no, we didn’t accidentally add any extra zeros in there.
Frank Spadafora, the CEO of an analytics group that focuses on social media, told CF Fashion Book that these three models “are currently valued between $125,000 and $300,000 for a single post across their portfolio. If you want to reach a model’s audience, you’re going to have to pay a hefty additional fee for that.” Second-tier models like Karlie Kloss and Miranda Kerr can earn up to $50,000 per post. Cool. So if you need us anytime in the near future we’ll just be here weeping as we realize a model can make something comparable to our annual salary with the snap of a selfie. Life is hard.
