‘RHOA’ Star Kenya Moore Welcomed a Baby Girl — Find Out Her Name
Kenya Moore is a mom! The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star gave birth to a baby girl over the weekend, and on Sunday she revealed the adorable and meaningful name that she and husband Marc Daly have chosen for their new daughter.
“Brooklyn,” Moore told People of her first-born’s name. “Because that’s where we met and fell in love, and Doris after my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me.”
Little Brooklyn Doris Daly came into the world on Sunday, November 4, weighing 5 pounds and 12 ounces. While Moore is doing well and Brooklyn is said to be “very alert and active,” it was a scary couple of days as Moore had to undergo an emergency C-section due to a preeclampsia diagnosis.
Last week, on October 27, the RHOA alum posted a photo on Instagram detailing her complications. “I made fun of my swollen feet at @cynthiabailey10 party,” she wrote. “Next day my tests came back for possible preeclampsia. I gained 17 lbs in ONE week due to severe swelling and water retention, high blood pressure, and excess protein in urine. This is NOT normal!”
Preeclampsia often begins after week 20 in pregnancy. Kim Kardashian West also suffered the complication with her first pregnancy, delivering her daughter North early at 34 weeks in order to help ensure a healthy delivery.
Moore first revealed in April that, at age 47, she was expecting her first child via IVF. “We will definitely be welcoming a boy or girl in late this year,” she announced on the RHOA season 10 reunion special. “I don’t want to talk about the details because I’m still very nervous about everything so I want to get past a safe place.”
On Saturday, Moore let fans know that baby Daly was on the way. “If you want to make God laugh have a plan,” she captioned a photo of herself in a hospital bed, indicating she was about to deliver little Brooklyn. In her previous post about her preeclampsia complications, Moore urged other women to “please go to your visits and tell the doctor of any drastic changes.”
Congrats to the growing family!
