Kesha’s New Hair Color Is Not What You’d Expect

No, Kesha didn’t just get slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, the sartorially fearless pop singer has traded her soft blonde locks for a bold new hair color. Forget about those visions of a head dipped in cotton candy or lavender-like hues we’re used to seeing on celebs, Kesha’s new ‘do is what we can only describe as a vibrant, punk-inspired shade of slime green.
We can’t say this dramatic change comes as a huge surprise considering Kesha’s notoriously wild style and extensive history with colorful hair. Remember that split dyed style she debuted back in 2013? It’s still pretty contradictory to the ultra natural look she’s been rocking as of late.
Kesha has already posted four photos of her new mane since she dyed it last Friday so we’re guessing it’s safe to say she’s pretty happy with how it turned out. In a world where we’re only really seeing celebs take the color plunge with pastel hues (see: Julianne Hough, Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus‘ recently dyed locks), it’s refreshing to see an alternative take on the trend. Spring was all about those soft shades, but as summer rolls around, the brighter the better.
