The Key to Khloe Kardashian’s Blonde Hair Isn’t an Actual Product
Khloe Kardashian has gone under quite the transformation recently, in case you haven’t noticed. She’s more fit than ever, has become the queen of quirky tutorials (cookie organization, anyone?) and has sported about eight different hair colors over the past few months, each looking better than the last. Her hair doesn’t look like it’s been through the wringer, though, which it totally has been thanks to the constant color updates. What gives?
Patience — that’s what, says Khloe, who recently posted an Instagram that chronicled her hair journey from dark brunette to a beachy blonde with a series of progression photos + a pic of the woman behind the transformation, her hair colorist, Tracey Cuningham. “[P]eople seem to forget that my progression from dark to blonde took time. First I was chocolate brown, and then I added some highlights, then it was my ombre phase and now I am a blonde,” Khloe said in the caption, which is a big contrast to the way we’re used to seeing celebs’ hair change completely overnight.
All in all, it took three or four months for Khloe to reach the level of blonde she is currently rocking. Conditioning Khloe’s hair throughout this process was key, Tracey explained to Allure, and she credits a lot of that to hair-saving miracle-product Olaplex.
A color transition like Khloe’s isn’t easy — or guaranteed to work on everyone — so make sure you consult with a professional before you begin so that you’re on the same page about expectations and desired outcome. Then once you get the okay, *patiently* wait as your hair beautifully transitions from one hue to another. At least while you wait it out, your in-between hue of not-quite-brunette, not-quite-blonde will be right on trend.
