Khloe Kardashian Opens Up About Her Skin Cancer Scare
The Kardashians may have a lifestyle that often seems beyond the realm of normal trials and tribulations (really, most of us don’t end up in viral celeb-level feuds), but that’s not necessarily true. After sister Kim just revealed she gets butt injections for a reason that is more health-related than cosmetic, Khloé Kardashian has revealed her own medical issue by letting fans in on the fact that she herself had a painful skin cancer scare.
In a post on her members-only app, Khloé urges fans to take care of themselves and get checked regularly for any signs of skin cancer, which is just what she did a couple of years back when she found a suspicious mole.
“I have moles everywhere,” Khloé explained, but there was one in particular that was causing her concern. “[A] couple years ago, I noticed one growing under my breast. I immediately looked it up online and found out that if a mole is growing and changing shape, you should go to the doctor — so I did.” Good on you, Khloé! That’s not something you want to wait out.
“They took the whole thing out and they biopsied it,” she said, and luckily it turned out to be benign and harmless. Unfortunately, that’s not where the story ends. Another mole on her back came back with scary results: skin cancer.
Doctors were quick to jump on the sitch. “I had 8 inches of skin removed. It was definitely painful because it was a lot of skin.” Oof! Rough but necessary. And it’s not the only time Khloé has had a mole removed, though she says that “most of the time, the removals haven’t been that bad. Now that I’ve gone through this a couple of times, I am extra aware of my skin, body and moles.”
But this still gives her extra motivation to remind her fans to take care of themselves too, urging them to “check yourself frequently! … [I] wanted to share my experience with you so that if you notice something doesn’t look right, you will take action and take care of your health!” Will do!
