I Tried Khloé Kardashian’s Go-To Booty Workout for Two Weeks and It Actually Worked
Love ’em or hate ’em, the Kardashians are certainly well-known for being some of the most toned ladies in Hollywood. After an inspiring health journey which led to her popular TV series Revenge Bodies, Khloé Kardashian created a workout routine that’s notoriously strict — especially when it comes to working out her famous booty. In January of last year, Kardashian revealed her secret for keeping up her fitness when going to the gym is simply out of the question. “You don’t need a gym membership or a trainer to work out. There’s a ton of small, relatively inexpensive equipment you can buy to create your own home gym,” Kardashian wrote in a blog post. “I keep most of mine in my garage!” Along with a kettlebell set, yoga mat, and jump rope (all available on Amazon), Kardashian also shared her coveted secret to getting a great booty outside of the gym: the DB Method. “A booty sculptor that you can easily fold up and store out of sight? Yassss, please,” she remarked.
What Is This Mysterious Workout Product?
The DB Method is an at-home workout machine designed for non-impact squats to strengthen your spine, tone your body, and firm up your derrière. As a busy Manhattan executive and workout guru, founder of the DB Method Erika Rayman wanted to create a product for women who were frustrated with doing boring exercises and never seeing any results. “I was inspired to create the DB Method after working with a trainer who taught me how to effectively target my glutes; it changed my body and the way I work out forever. There wasn’t a machine out there to mimic this positioning, so I set out to create it,” Rayman says.
She spent years on product development and testing to create the DB Method before it started attracting some very high-profile fans (à la the Kardashians). “I was blown away when I saw the DB Method on Khloé’s app,” says Rayman. “Khloé transformed her body through exercise and she recognizes what works. I am so grateful and so honored that she and her team included the DB Method in her picks for must-haves for your home gym.”
Now that I knew Kardashian’s booty-toning secret, I had to test out the machine for myself. In order to see maximum results, Rayman suggested I follow a 15-minute program of the DB Cardio Sculpt routine (10 minutes) followed by one set of Founder Fave (five minutes) every day for two weeks straight. “I put this routine together after injuring my knee running; [I] couldn’t run for two weeks and was not able to get to the gym. I had better results in those two weeks than I had from my usual running routine,” notes Rayman.
What Happened When I Tried It
Excited to see my dream booty appear in just two weeks, I started my first day on the program with high hopes. Jumping on the machine, I turned on the first YouTube routine, and within minutes, nay, seconds, I was dripping with sweat and my core, butt, and quads were super engaged. After the workout was over, I wobbled off the machine and guzzled as much water as I could — doing modified squats for 10-ish minutes is no freakin’ joke. Waking up the next day with sore quads and a tight derrière, I stretched and started on the second day of the program. Over the next 14 days I repeated this process, and while the routine did get a tad easier by the final day, it was still an engaging workout that left me in desperate need of a shower and a foam roller.
Other than the fact that it kicked my butt every day, one of my favorite things about the machine is that it’s sooo simple to fold up and store away under a bed, in a closet… wherever! So if space is an issue (or if you’re in a motivation slump and want to banish all workout equipment from your sight for a week), you can simply take out a pin, fold up the machine, and voilà, it’s gone.
The Results
Okay, but did it actually work?! At the end of the two weeks, I’m happy to say that I do feel like my butt is more lifted and toned. Even if the results are all in my head, it was a nice change of pace to give my booty a little love in my normally cardio-heavy workout routine. Overall, while I don’t think my butt is Kardashian-worthy by any means, I do think I’m going to consider working this into my workout routine from time to time. Thanks, Erika and Khloé!
