Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Welcome Baby #3!
Exciting news for the Kardashian-West family! Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye West have welcomed their third child, a baby girl, via surrogate.
“She’s here!” Kardashian West shared on her website. “Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”
New baby West was born on January 15, 2018, at 12:47am, and weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star chose to use a surrogate for her third pregnancy after doctors advised her that she it wouldn’t be safe for her to give birth again due to complications from placenta accreta, the condition that caused serious issues during her first two pregnancies with daughter North West, 4, and son Saint West, 2.
While news of the surrogate was initially kept quiet, the KKW Beauty mogul confirmed the rumors with a beautiful baby shower in November.
Since going public with the news, Kardashian-West has been vocal about some of the frustrations that go along with surrogacy, telling ET that it has been “much harder” than she expected. “Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong,” she said. “I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control.”
Despite the difficulties, however, the family is over the moon about bringing another little girl into their lives. Sister Khloé Kardashian, who is expecting her first child this spring, excitedly shared Kim’s news via Twitter with a row of pink heart emojis.
