Kristen Bell’s Holiday Charity Work Will Inspire You to Be Your Best Self
In recent years, the Tuesday after Black Friday has been known as “Giving Tuesday,” a way to take some of that holiday cheer and donate your time or money to a charity of your choice. While being thoughtful one day before the holidays is a great way to help us remain thankful even after Thanksgiving, what about spending more than one day? More and more, we’re wanting to give back to our communities, and what better way to do that than through volunteering?
Actress Kristen Bell is no stranger to volunteering, but in recent years, she’s really upped her game, donating not just money, but time. In an interview with E! News, the Frozen actress explains what draws her to her charitable work, specifically with her favorite organization, PATH (People Assisting the Homeless).
“It was right after I had kids, and it really hit me because I had just had a baby, and I was sort of floating around this idea that everybody is someone else’s baby… I would want others who are capable and had the ability to reach out a helping hand, and my mom always taught me that you have two hands for a reason, one hand is for you and one is for some giving.”
She added that what it comes down to is that at the end of the day, she’s #TeamHuman, and that she wants to see everyone succeed. Kristen’s passion for PATH has us thinking about what we’re passionate about, and we definitely want to take her lead in order to show our support for charities we love. Maybe we can spend some time cuddling kittens at the animal shelter, or walking dogs. Maybe it’s helping to put together baskets at the food bank or soliciting donations.
Whatever you choose to donate your time to this holiday season, we know that, like Kristen, you’ll be working for #TeamHuman, and that’s something we should all be striving for, not just over the holidays.
