Kylie Jenner Defends The Price of Her $360 Makeup Brushes

After announcing she was expanding her insanely popular beauty line to include makeup brushes, Kylie Jenner just addressed the controversy surrounding the $360 price tag on the new brushes, but are fans buying it?

The brush set is the third product dropping in Kylie Cosmetics’ new Silver Series, and will be released on December 13. And while they do look totally gorgeous, fans and beauty bloggers alike took to social media to air their grievances about the high price point.

The 20-year-old beauty mogul has broken her silence over the controversy, taking to Twitter to explain exactly why her brushes will cost as much as they do.

The youngest Kardashian-Jenner explained that the price point for her brushes are actually in line with other similar brands, screenshotting the prices of other brush brands like Artis, MAC, and Kevyn Aucoin.

She explained the difference between “real” brushes (i.e. those made from animal hair) and synthetic, writing, “I have developed for you guys the most amazing luxury brushes ever. I am very excited! Real brushes don’t compare to synthetic brushes. Different performance/quality/everything. I am 100% down to do an entire synthetic line in the future which will ultimately be cheaper.”

Jenner explained that she “always” fights to keep her prices in line with similar brands, explaining that while she hears her fans, she simply wants the best for them.

Some fans thanked Jenner for listening to their feedback on the issue.

But others simply aren’t buying it, and remain frustrated with Jenner for the cost of these new brushes.

Only time will tell if Kylie Cosmetics’ new brush line will be a success, but we think it’s wonderful that Jenner listens to the feedback from her devoted fans and customers and continues to work hard to create the best products she can.
