The $6 Men’s Product Kylie Jenner Uses in Her Beauty Routine Is Genius
Each Kardashian has their “thing.” For Khloe that’s pantry organization. For Kim, it’s selfies and emojis. Kylie’s forté? Makeup. Duh. The 18-year-old reality star and entrepreneur is always full of tips and tricks when it comes to beauty, but she’s just taken to Snapchat to share one that we’re looking to test out ASAP.
While prepping for a photo shoot earlier today, Kylie snapped a pic of Nivea for Men’s Sensitive Post Shave Balm. WTF does Kylie use a men’s product for? She tells her followers, “Cool new trick is using Nivea for Men’s Sensitive Post Shave Balm as a moisturizer if you have oily skin.”
In her next snap, her makeup artist offers a demo saying, “We’re going to pick it up with a sponge and I’m going to use downward strokes. And make sure you let it dry before applying the foundation on. It coats your skin.” After a quick Google, it looks as though Kylie’s makeup artist isn’t the only beauty guru who swears by this hack. In fact, famous beauty vlogger Nikkie Tutorials is also a major fan.
So WHY does this work? Most likely because one of the product’s main ingredients is glycerine, which is found in almost every moisturizer. Glycerine essentially acts like a glue for any product you put on top of it. This after shave balm is also formulated with witch hazel, which can help control excess oil levels over time. Does it actually work? Is it a total bust? For $6 you can bet we’re going to find out.
