Kylie Jenner Reveals How Stormi Got Her Unique Name
Three months after welcoming daughter Stormi Webster with boyfriend Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner is sharing the inspiration for her baby girl’s unique name.
“I really don’t know how we thought of Storm. Her dad insisted it was him, but I feel like it was me,” Jenner told sister Kim Kardashian West in an interview for the UK’s Evening Standard, revealing that the name Storm — without the “i” — stuck with them for a while.
“Then I didn’t really like just Storm — I didn’t feel like that was her name,” she continued. “So then it became Stormi. And it just stuck. I feel like there were a lot of other names that I might have even liked better, to be honest, but I feel like Stormi picked her own name, like it was just her name.”
Following Jenner’s announcement that she had given birth to a little girl, fans combed through the 20-year-old beauty mogul’s social media for name clues. She revealed the name and a first photo of her daughter on February 6. The baby girl uses her father’s surname, Webster (Scott’s real name is Jacques Webster).
Kardashian West and sister Khloé Kardashian also welcomed baby daughters recently, and both little girls have unique names. Kim has said that Chicago’s name comes from her husband Kanye West’s hometown, while Khloé’s daughter True is named after the important men in Kris Jenner’s life. “My grandfather’s name on my dad’s side was True Otis Houghton, [and] my real dad’s name was Robert True Houghton,” Kris explained on social media following the little girl’s birth in April. “So I am so excited Khloé named her daughter True!!!”
