THREE Babies Are on the Way for Country Group Lady Antebellum!
Lady Antebellum has a *serious* case of baby fever. Lead singer Hillary Scott has officially announced that she’ll soon be joining the ever-growing list of names in the Hollywood parent twin club, with two bundles of joy on the way (!!). And that’s not all: Guitar player Dave Haywood is also expecting, putting the group’s baby watch count up to three!!! Whoa.
The “You Look Good” singer shared her announcement with fans via an adorable Instagram video, in which her husband, Chris Tyrell, can be seen giving the couple’s four-year-old daughter, Elyse, the good news. “You know how you’ve been praying a lot about having a baby, and about God giving our family another baby? Well, God has answered that prayer, and mommy is pregnant, with a baby in her belly,” he tells the wide-eyed toddler.
“But guess what? She actually has two babies in her belly,” he adds, as Elyse gasps.
“Can you believe it!?” Scott chimes in. “Two babies, right here!” she says as she points to her stomach.
The family’s joy is palpable as the soon-to-be big sis exclaims, “I can’t wait until the babies come out!” and for good reason: Scott suffered a miscarriage back in the fall of 2015, an event which would go on to become the inspiration for her family’s Grammy-winning Contemporary Christian Music Performance and Song, “Thy Will.” “I feel like there’s this pressure to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened,” she told Good Morning America at the time. “I wrote the song in the middle of experiencing everything that comes with a miscarriage, so it was at my most raw place when the song truly poured out of me.”
Needless to say, she now views her twins as double the blessing. “God has answered our family’s countless prayers!” she wrote. “Our family is growing… Chris, Elyse, and I wanted to share our DOUBLE portion of joy with you all! We appreciate all the love and prayers in the coming weeks as we wait (somewhat patiently if you’re Chris and I, and impatiently if you’re Elyse), for these precious BABIES to arrive! Yep, babies! We are having TWINS!”
The 31-year-old also addresses her previous struggles in the post, saying, “Because we’ve been so open about our last pregnancy loss and journey, I want to be fully transparent with you that this happened naturally. Chris nor I have any history of twins that we can find and are just resting in the profound gift this truly is. My heart still grieves for our loss and all who are struggling with pregnancy and infancy loss and infertility. God hears every prayer and I will continue to share our story to point to the source of all life, peace, and comfort in the best and most difficult of times. Don’t lose hope!”
It sounds like these two will soon have quite the happy handful — particularly with the video closing on a curious Elyse asking, “When am I gonna have a baby?” Gulp!
Haywood and wife Kelli will also soon be gaining a new family member, with a baby girl on the way for the pair. “Well, #BabyBellum round 2 is on the way!” the band shared. “We’re thrilled to announce the Haywoods are welcoming a girl this December, AND Tyrells are expecting in February 2018.”
Haywood also shared a happy snap of his own, writing, “Yes we are beyond excited for a baby girl this December!!! Really can’t believe it. We feel very blessed, partly terrified, and I’ve already cried twice and the baby is not even here. Also Kelli looking 🔥 and Cashie gonna be a great big brother!” Awwww!
