Lady Gaga Had The Grammys’ Most Tweeted-About Performance

When we first heard that Lady Gaga was performing the Grammy Awards tribute to the late, great, David Bowie, we wondered what we might expect. Known for her theatrics and crazy costumes, Bowie was her hero. At tonight’s awards show she turned it out, and blew us all away with her digitized Bowie looks, her hair, clothes, and voice (singing in a lower register than she usually does, harder than you’d think!). She even shared the stage with ’70s and ’80s Bowie collaborator (and modern day Daft Punk collab star) Nile Rodgers in her performance, where she owned the stage.

onstage during The 58th GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on February 15, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

But don’t take our word for it. Twitter was abuzz with lots of reactions to this epic performance.

Loads of people loved the performance:

Including Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox…

Some people were underwhelmed.

And others… well, let’s just say it wasn’t their favorite.

David Bowie’s son, filmmaker Duncan Jones tweeted something pretty cryptic during the performance. We’re not sure whether he liked it or not.

While it looks like the jury’s out on the performance itself, one thing is for sure: we definitely won’t be forgetting her must-see, Bowie-inspired outfit.
