Lady Gaga & Prince William FaceTimed for Mental Health Awareness
Both Lady Gaga and Prince William have stepped up their game when it comes to bringing awareness to issues of mental health, not to mention Prince Harry’s heartbreaking admission about his own state for two decades after his mother’s passing. Now, the Duke of Cambridge and the “Million Reasons” singer came together (via the internet) to have a very personal, very touching chat about mental health that everyone should see.
Highlighting the royal family’s Heads Together campaign, which brings together “the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry and eight charities to change the conversation on mental health” (“…it’s the same as physical health, everybody has mental health and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it…”), Prince William FaceTimed Lady Gaga to speak about her struggles. The conversation may only last around four minutes, but it’s time well spent for anyone who’s ever had their own issues with mental health or knows someone who does.
“I am so grateful to speak to you,” Gaga tells William. “I’m a very big fan of what you’ve done with Heads Together and #oktosay… The beautiful films you made with the Heads Together campaign told beautiful stories and it reminded me how much my mental health changing changed my life.” It may not be easy, but it’s oh-so important.
