Lady Gaga Is FINALLY Opening Up About Her Split With Taylor Kinney
When Lady Gaga and ex-fiancé Taylor Kinney decided to “take a break” back in July of last year, fans were largely left to wonder why the twosome that once seemed destined for marriage suddenly fell off the rails.
And while many hoped for a reconciliation (a sentiment some still hold to this day, particularly in the wake of their latest reunion), one never came, with both parties seeming to move on to other lovers, Lady Gaga’s being boyfriend and celebrity agent Christian Carino.
Now, the 31-year-old is finally addressing her much-publicized split thanks to her upcoming Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two.
As People reports, the film sees the two in rockier days, with Gaga quipping, “Me and Taylor are fighting, so that sucks. My threshold for bullsh*t with men is just — I don’t have one anymore. In relationships, you have to move together.”
While she didn’t go into specifics, the two ultimately weren’t able to do so with the documentary capturing their split shortly after she landed a leading role in A Star Is Born.
From the sound of things, her rising success may have been a factor in the breakup. “My love life has just imploded,” she laments in the movie. “I sold 10 million [records] and lose Matt [Williams]. I sold 30 million and lost Luc [Carl]. I did a movie and lose Taylor. It’s like a turnover. This is the third time I’ve had my heart broken like this.”
Still, the documentary also shows the staying power of their friendship through it all, as evidenced by the bouquet of flowers she received from her famous ex prior to her massive Super Bowl performance.“Nothing like flowers from your ex-fiancé on the day of the Super Bowl,” she cracks.
Here’s to hoping Kinney’s was the last heartbreak she’ll ever have to face!
