Limited series never fail to pack a punch. I'm personally still mourning the end of Daisy Jones & the Six and Lessons in Chemistry (there's no way I'm the only one who cried at the end!), and thanks to their, well, limited run, limited series always keep us on the edge of our seats. And Apple TV+'s newest summer TV show is no different. Lady in the Lake is a brand new thriller from the streamer starring Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram. Here's everything you need to know before it premieres.
What is the story of Lady in the Lake?
It's Thanksgiving in 1966 Baltimore, and a young girl has gone missing. Jewish housewife Maddie Schwartz (Natalie Portman) is on a mission to reinvent herself as an investigative journalist, while mother Cleo Johnson (Moses Ingram) is trying to provide for her family while simultaneously making her way through the underbelly of Black Baltimore — and its politics. "Their disparate lives seem parallel at first," according to the official synopsis, "but when Maddie becomes fixated on Cleo’s mystifying death, a chasm opens that puts everyone around them in danger."
