Lauren Conrad Went into Labor Minutes After Her July 4th Party Ended
While Lauren Conrad basks in the bliss of life with her newborn baby boy, she’s also starting to share details about the day he made his big entrance into the world. Little Liam was born the day after the Fourth of July, but Conrad actually went into labor the night before — just minutes after the end of her annual Independence Day party, in fact!
“No one believed me that I was going to [hold the celebration],” Conrad told People of her yearly tradition. “Two days before, I said to William [Tell], ‘I don’t think [the baby is] coming before.’ I said, ‘I think I’m going to be fine. I really would like to have a Fourth of July party. It’s my favorite day of the year. I love Fourth of July. I have this party every year.'”
They went ahead and hosted the party, though they did things “a little more low-maintenance than we normally do,” Conrad explained.

After watching fireworks from the beach, the Paper Crown designer decided to head off to bed, leaving her hubby to say goodbye to their friends before joining her. “William came in … and as soon as his head hit the pillow, my water broke,” she told People. (Nice timing!)
The couple hurried off to the hospital, where four other ladies arrived just after her, all ready to deliver their babies. “They say that over holidays there are a lot of people in labor because you might ignore early symptoms,” Conrad revealed. She has her own thoughts about the situation, though. “I think it’s the fireworks.”
Either way, it looks like their baby boy entered the world with a bang!
Congratulations again to the happy family!
