Take a Tour of Lea Michele’s Home
Filled with natural wood, casual patterns and subdued colors, Lea Michele’s cozy, unpretentious home is a far cry from her dramatic life on Glee. The decor is a touch masculine and full of funky pieces that reflect Lea’s personality and sense of humor. Let’s take a tour and get inspired to add some of that easy-living California vibe she so effortlessly exudes with our buy/DIY ideas!
In her monochromatic living room, the collection of rustic-looking pink pillows add a feminine touch to the space. With all the natural light and textures, it’s a living room that feels like a breath of fresh air — exactly what she was going for. It was very important to Lea that her home felt cozy and that you didn’t feel afraid to touch anything. We think she nailed it!
Having an armoire in the living room is an unusual choice, but it’s a great statement piece that doubles as hidden storage for the TV, games, books and throw blankets. Get the look with this armoire from Restoration Hardware ($1605), fun pillows from Anthropologie ($198) and a sleek coffee table from Room and Board ($1189).
Coffee table styling at its finest! A silver tray is a clever idea to hold smaller items like candles, trinkets and flowers.
This hammered silver tray from Wisteria ($129) adds texture to your coffee table vignette.
Michele’s Restoration Hardware steel and reclaimed elm dining table ($625) and trio of industrial dining room chairs are complemented by a one-of-a-kind French Baroque-inspired blue velvet settee for a creative touch of color.
Find a similar wire mesh light at Barn Light Electric ($150). The metal chairs are available at Restoration Hardware ($129) and feel like a flashback to the classroom of yesteryear.
The entryway pays homage to Michele’s native Manhattan with a traditional wingback chair upholstered in weathered black leather and updated with a linen cushion. The designer who worked with Lea shared tips on styling your foyer with Domaine Home: “You need something original and funky to give it that flavor. People tend to get scared and want to leave it at one or two pieces, but really, you need to do the opposite to create that homey-ness.”
Get that cool horse painting at Z Gallerie ($500) and you can DIY your own chalkboard globe right here! For the complete look, antique pots are available at Jayson Home ($185) and the antique-looking rug can be purchased at Rug USA ($1508).
Not overly girly in any way, this elegant desk is paired with a contemporary chair, some modern art and the actress’s awards.
Feeling very earthy, this hefty wood table displays a few pretty items and some beautiful floral arrangements.
Evocative of honey combs, these vases from West Elm ($24 to 38) are perfect for summery flower arrangements. We like how Lea combined different color vases for a casual, thrown together feel.
Outside on the patio, the worn wood table and woven chairs are just begging for you to sit down and enjoy a meal full of fresh, healthy ingredients. The colorful dishware are perfect for summer entertaining.
You can grab your own blue rimmed dishes at Canvas ($12) and a set of red bowls from West Elm ($8). We’re not at all surprised to see that that fashionable Miss Michele is also setting her table with trendy gold flatware! Get your own set at Anthropologie ($32 to 98).
