Leo DiCaprio has been nominated a total of five times, and since he began attending the Oscars in the ’90s, we’ve always wondered, leading up to the telecast, just who would be Leo’s date.
He’s had no shortage of gorgeous potential arm candy, dating the most beautiful women in the world (and several VS models). Yet every year, at every awards show, Leo’s date is his beautiful mom, Irmelin Indenbirken. While she doesn’t love the spotlight, she’s always there to support him, and the reason is even sweeter than we could have imagined.
During this year’s red carpet pre-show, host Robin Roberts asked Leo about bringing his mom as his date, and Leo told her that his mom always “listened” to him, taking him to every single audition, never denying him and helping him to become the star he is, and for that, he’s eternally grateful.
Don’t you just love hearing people giving thanks to their parents? We love that a star as big as Leo remains grounded and thinks about all his mom has done for him in his life.
