Leslie Jones Is Calling Out the Ritz-Carlton Hotel With Accusations of Racism
Leslie Jones is accusing the Ritz-Carlton hotel of racism in no uncertain terms. The beloved Ghostbusters actress, who is always unabashedly herself, consequences be darned, may have had an awesome time hosting the 2017 BET Awards, but things apparently took a serious turn for the worse when it came to her post-show accommodations.
The 49-year-old let shared the drama with her nearly 700,000 followers over on Twitter, blasting the Ritz-Carlton hotel. “Wow was such a great night at the BET awards,” she began. “But then had THE WORST STAY @RitzCarlton DO NOT STAY THERE!! THEY DONT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE!!” Whoa.

While she didn’t explain any further or give any details as to what prompted such a strong reaction, her fans were definitely upset on her behalf. Some claimed to have had similarly bad experiences with the chain, while others pointed out that this isn’t the first time the hotel has been accused of racism, linking to a report from The Washington Times in which the North Carolina attorney general’s office investigated similar claims back in 2015 for implementing a special 15-percent bill charge for all guests associated with a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association conference.

The Ritz-Carlton was quick to respond to Jones, saying, “We’re very sorry to hear this. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to all. Please DM us & we’ll look into this right away.”
Let’s hope they do indeed look into it. And let’s hope they also do whatever is necessary to make this situation right!
