Is This the New Way to Color Your Hair?
Whether you’re going for pastel hues or more natural shades (ecaille anyone?!), coloring your hair can be a fun way to express your personal style. We’ve talked about the dyed armpit hair trend, rocking the colored mascara look and we even spotted some rainbow roots on last year’s runway. But this new hair trend takes a new, ultra-minimalist approach to color.
Yes, we’re talking dyed roots, but like nothing you’ve ever seen before. We spotted this eye-catching hairstyle on the Libertine runway show at New York Fashion Week. Rather than sporting color on their long locks, the Libertine models rocked a bright stripe on their hair part.
Known for their rave, punk and street looks, Libertine is an LA-based fashion house that isn’t afraid to push boundaries. This season, their women’s look is all about ’60s inspired outerwear, leather jackets and mini dresses with burst of colors, patterns, cartoons and French typography. There is A LOT going on in their collection, but the stripe of hair color really pulls it all together, not to mention adds a nice pop of color to the dance party in the show’s finale.
This look is a surreal, cartoonish and fun way to show off your favorite colors. While we don’t see this becoming part of our everyday look, we think this could be an easy way to add some unexpected detailing to your party or music festival look.
