Lilly Pulitzer x Target Show You How to Party like a Lilly Girl
It’s not enough to look like a Lilly Pulitzer girl. You can party like one too, thanks to the latest from the Lilly x Target collaboration. The minds behind the most highly anticipated fashion collab of the year (mark your cals for April 19, you guys!) are inviting you to a pre-launch pool party of the virtual kind through an interactive app that completely immerses you into the world of all things LP. Basically, if you’ve been dreaming in patterns and prints since the collab was announced in January, then consider this required viewing.
Like anything that has to do with Lilly Pulitzer, the first thing you notice when you click through to the desktop and mobile-friendly app is color (And a monkey butler? and Mr. Big?). Not only are guests outfitted in the brand’s made-for-less sundresses, beachy jumpsuits and quirky sea-themed costume jewelry, but the posh house party features all of the collab’s covetable home goods in action. Not only is the app speaking to us as shoppers (we have a hunch more fashion lookbooks will be getting interactive makeovers in the future), but it’s practically dropping summer party planning tips left and right. Scroll through for four LP-approved tips on hosting a beach bash to remember.
1. Sub Flower Petals for Confetti: We’re obsessed with this elegant way to switch up your party photo booth props or table scape. Whether you’re using remnants from DIY flower crowns or freshly plucked blooms, flower petals will help create an unmatched ethereal mood.
2. Poufs Are Party Essentials: Whether you’re kicking it cabana style or have invited everyone indoors for the night, having ample seating is clutch. Rather than fill your space with rickety chairs, toss a pile of poufs on the ground to create a more lounge-like vibe (may we suggest backing that up with a DIY party fort?).
3. No Bash Is Complete Without Music: If you’re anything like us (and apparently Lilly!), you hope the night will evolve into a killer dance party. So make sure you’re blasting the tunes out of something more powerful than an iPhone speaker. The Bluetooth-enabled Jambox is a fave around here along with the Bando-made Giant Gem Speaker ($40) that looks just like, well, a giant pink gem. Or if you’re trying to make a big splash, try a pool-proof speaker like Boom Movement’s two-toned Swimmer Speaker ($60).
4. Set Up a DIY Mani/Pedi Station: Bare nails in the summer is somewhat of a fashion faux paux, so in an effort to make your girls feel like the babest babes they can be, set up a DIY nail station with an array of summery colors. Because nothing sounds more luxurious than a poolside pedicure.
