Lily Aldridge’s $1,000 Sweatshirt Is Deceptively Easy to Hack
Celebrity fashion is so awesome sometimes. They start crazy trends like sequins for summer, but they also love to wear some pretty down-to-earth things like concert tees. But a lot of the time, their “simple” stuff is pretty dang expensive (cue Miranda Kerr’s bedazzled sunnies)!
Lily Aldridge recently stepped out in NYC in a $1,000 “Love” sweatshirt by French design house Givenchy. Now, Lily is amazing and should be lauded for her fashion choices *most* of the time, but $1,000 for a sweatshirt is a LOT of money.
You, DIY diva, can totally do this one yourself — try a simple sweatshirt like this Alternative Apparel Sunset Eco-Mock Twist Crew Sweatshirt ($54), and break out your iron for some heat transfer images, which you can find in abundance at craft stores or online, like Etsy.
Don’t forget about hoodies too! This one American Giant Essential Pullover ($69) — the world’s comfiest, best-selling hoodie — will do nicely with a glitter applique, like the Etsy Shop Happy Patches Let It Go Iron-on ($5).
Not in the mood to DIY RN? Head over to Bow & Drape, where they’ll do it all for you. There’s a Boyfriend Sweatshirt ($58) with your name on it over there — literally.
