I would call myself a lipstick connoisseur. I own every shade under the sun and constantly test the latest and greatest new beauty launches, so it takes a serious game-changing product to become one of my faves. I thought I had seen it all when it came to lipstick (stickers, anyone?), but then I was introduced to lip powder and instantly became obsessed AF.
The Cle Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder ($20) is a bold, bright pigment that comes in actual powder form. Yep, just like the loose eyeshadow you’ve finally mastered. Here’s why I’m a lip powder believer.
The colors are highly saturated. There’s nothing worse than swiping on a lipstick in a hue you’re in love with, only to find that it shows up muted on the lips. This powder goes on your lips exactly as it appears in the bottle, which is very vivid (in a good way). You can intensify the hues even more by layering it — but keep in mind that just one swipe is all you need for a perfectly pigmented pout.
The formula leaves your lips feeling extra hydrated. The lip powder is infused with vitamin E, which results in a feeling that is somewhere between a hydrating lipstick and a moisturizing balm, so there’s no need to worry about the color cracking or flaking.
The powder looks fresh for hours. It’s common to have to reapply an in-your-face lip color after a couple hours of wear, but these pigments eliminate that need entirely. The shade looks fresh hours after you’ve been sporting it and it easily stays put on your pout through meals. The only reason you’d need to break it out of your purse again is if you wanted to intensify the color.
