Lola Kirke Responds to the Hate She Got for Having Hairy Armpits at the Golden Globes
Not all women shave their body hair, which seems like a simple fact that shouldn’t cause much fuss at all. That’s why it’s so shocking that there are still instances where people FREAK OUT because they happen to spy hair on a woman in a place that somehow offends them personally. Lola Kirke is the latest celeb to be (terrifyingly) targeted, this time for her choice to skip the razor at the 2017 Golden Globes. She’s finally responded to the sitch, and you’ll definitely want to hear what she has to say.
Looking absolutely lovely in a pink gown embellished with embroidered flowers, the star of Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle was glowing as she smiled for the cameras on the red carpet.
However, when some saw that her armpits were not bare (particularly in an adorable vid where we can see Lola dancing around while prepping for the night), they unleashed the hate with comments like “YOU ARE A WOMEN NOT A MAN,” “disgusting🤢” and “You Dirty 😷😷😷😷.” Some even went so far as to send death threats.
DEATH THREATS because of hairy armpits. SMH!

Lola obviously needed some time to gather herself, finally taking to Instagram with the message, “Ok! Now I’m really ready. Thanks to all you beautiful people who didn’t send me death threats on account of my #awesome #hairyarmpits! You rule. And thank you @susanwinget for always making me feel cool and @reginaharris for my make up, @blakeerik for my hair and @andrewgn for my kickass dress!”
And there were plenty of fans ready to back her up with sentiments such as, “Ah You’re so beautiful Lola, and you own it girl ⚡⚡,” “love the pit hair👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼” and “soooo funny how all these ppl suddenly think they have a say with what women do with their bodies. wouldn’t be the first time. YAWN.” True dat.
