Shopping for a swimsuit can be stressful, to say the least. Once we do find the perfect fit, well, we’ve been known to buy it in multiple colors. While that’s a great strategy, in theory, it can get expensive. So why not invest in a reversible suit? “I wanted to make reversible pieces because I grew up with a dad who would only ever travel with carry-on suitcases and would never want us to check a bag, whether it was two days or two weeks!” designer Jo Davenport says. “That’s where the standard of reversibility and utility came from in the design. Two-in-one was always very important to me. I believe that a woman should get more out of her swimwear.”
More than just a one-trick pony, each of the styles and fabrics speak to Davenport’s problem-solving philosophy for swimsuits. “I have always struggled with swimwear, from finding a quality fit to a mix of prints and solids. After a bad experience with a bathing suit order and listening to my friends’ experiences, I thought that now was the time to bring L’PORT to life,” she says. “My fit models are the women who wear our swimsuits. I use myself and my friends, and when going through the sampling process, I try them on a variety of women who all have unique body types. It’s a goal to ensure women of all shapes feel confident, beautiful and comfortable in L’PORT.”
