This Gadget Is the Answer to Ending Kid’s Night Terrors
You made it through the trauma of bath time, and tech has made it easier than ever to take your kid’s temperature. But what about night terrors? It seems that no number of night lights and bedtime stories can stop whatever it is that keeps your kid running to your bedroom in the middle of the night. Tech has finally found a solution to this. Meet Lully, a simple device that’ll keep your kid sleeping peacefully through the night.
All you have to do is slip the Lully beneath your child’s mattress. The Lully device connects via Bluetooth to an app on your phone, which will alert you when it’s time to activate it. Once activated, the Lully will send gentle vibrations through the mattress to lull your little nugget to sleep. If you see your kid stir while the vibrations are happening, then just turn it off, and you’re all set for the night. After just four weeks of regular usage, the Lully has proven to stop nine out of ten night terrors.
Stanford fellows developed Lully after researching clinical studies that found the “scheduled-awakenings” sleep method ensures that children stay in a healthy state of deep sleep, aka no night terrors. Lully takes the mystery out of figuring out the right time and way to wake your kiddo up, instead sending vibrations that gently stir your kid without waking him up completely.
Nearly a quarter of children between the ages of two and twelve will experience at least one night terror, and the National Sleep Foundation found that 36 million children experience night terrors on a weekly basis. Since there hasn’t been a solution to this issue before now, night terrors have been something that parents don’t usually discuss with other parents, or even their doctors. But now you can get your peaceful nights back.
