The Royal Ballet Collection From Lululemon Might Be the Most Gorgeous Thing We’ve Ever Seen
When you think about lululemon, the first activity that may pop into your mind is probably yoga (or brunch) — right? But today the Canadian activewear powerhouse most known for their yogi-centric apparel launched a stunning new collection for a different type of fitness: ballet.
Teaming up with a principal dancer of the Royal Ballet in London, Francesca Hayward, lululemon crafted a magnificent capsule of 17 dance-inspired, dance-ready pieces that’ll combine your childhood bunhead affinity for Capezio with the intricate elegance of the Royal Ballet’s atelier — and the technical function of lululemon’s fabrics and design.
Each piece is spectacular; we’ve had our hands on several of the items ourselves for testing purposes, and let’s just say… this stuff is LUXE. Think: chic funnel neck pullovers for tossing on over your leotard, dance-skirt-inspired breezy shorts, cashmere blend legwarmers. Cozy. As. Heck.
The colors are showstopping as well, with muted and sophisticated autumnal hues and a mix of black and lavender-tinged grey. Where lululemon usually affixes a reflective gold logo, this collection uses all gold, per Hayward’s personal preference. So much of the prima ballerina’s personal style went into the aesthetic of the collection, and the results have left us starry-eyed.
The limited edition collection is available now on lululemon and in select stores. Dancers, you’re gonna be dazzled. Non-dancers, prepare to get your Black Swan on. And while we’re at it, may we make a recommendation? You’re definitely going to want the Principal Dancer Corsetry Tight ($118), Principal Dancer Leotard ($78), Principal Dancer Funnel Neck Sweater ($108), and Principal Dancer Short ($68).
