Lupita’s Broadway Backstage Prep Includes This Classic DIY Hobby
Is it just us, or is Hollywood going gaga for knitting as of late? We always knew superstar crafters like Cara Delevingne were into the whole purl one, knit two thang, but we’ve seen an influx of celebs posting their projects on Instagram recently, outing themselves as knitters who are damn proud of it.
As if you needed any more proof that knitting is, in fact, taking Tinsel Town by storm, you needn’t look any further than Lupita Nyong’o’s latest DIY Instagram over a copy of the New York Times (featuring her and Broadway co-star Trevor Noah, natch). From the looks of things, the Oscar-winning beauty is off to a pretty good start — she’s even turned it into an on-set ritual. “Part of my @eclipsedbway preparation ritual before curtain-up is learning to knit. My progress so far. #beginnersluck,” she writes in her debut knitting post.
While it’s still a little early to tell what Lupita will transform this ball of yarn into, we’ve got a sneaking suspicion that she’ll look effortlessly cool in it — girl has a knack for that winter layered look.
