Make It Mini: A Wee Elf Terrarium
Last week in our Make It Mini video series, we showed you how to craft the merriest of mistletoe headbands. This week, Make It Mini puts our little friend the Elf on a Shelf into a terrarium ornament! All you need for this swift and nimble mini DIY is a glass ornament with a sizable opening, sand, fake snow, mini fake trees, elves and anything else mini you’d like to add — we chose little desks and chairs. Once you have all your elven accessories, you can get to making the cutest terrarium we ever did see!
Begin by laying out all your materials, then make your list and check it twice!
First, add two layers of sand to the base of ornament. Once properly spread, you can add your fake snow on top for festive texture.
Now it’s time to add your mini tree — we recommend using tweezers to be more exact in your placement. Then add your other accessories around the tree.
Once the scene is set, it’s time to add your elves. Arrange as many or as few as you’d like.
And there you have it! Your mini elf terrarium is complete and ready to hang on your tree or adorn your shelf or mantel. Just remember: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!”
