This Tiny Yard Makeover Is Perfect for Outdoor Entertaining
Watch This Tiny Yard Transform Into a Party-Ready Patio
Every city gal dreams of having a tiny bit of outdoor space, even if it's just a sliver of concrete or a small patch of grass. Brit + Co's Creative Producer Cassidy Miller was blessed with a yard next to her cute San Francisco cottage but needed some help making the most of the narrow 250-square-foot patio. After hearing her (and her two pups') needs, like additional seating, a new fence, and a pretty space for dinner parties, we couldn't wait to get our crafty hands on it. Check out the transformation, must-have products, and DIYs below.
As you can see, Cassidy's patio was in need of some major sprucing up. The sad old fence was a major eyesore and the wooden picnic table took up most of the front of the yard. It was begging for more color and function. Since her tiny studio cottage has her spending a lot of time dining and hanging outside with guests, we created entertaining zones to help make the space feel bigger and more functional.
The three zones — a new fence with seating, a fire pit lounge area, and a dining space — and accompanying DIYs really upgraded the yard. The multi-functional fence served so many purposes, including covering up the old fence, adding more seating, and bringing vertical storage for plants. With the fire pit lounge and outdoor pillows, we created a cozy spot for s’mores roasting and rosé sipping. The pièce de résistance had to be the string light canopy that *literally* elevated the dining decor and upped the ambiance for dinner parties. If you're looking to make some similar upgrades to your patio or yard, see the step-by-steps below and then check out all the shoppable goodies.
