Our Fave Swimsuit Designer Is Finally Getting into Lingerie
Legendary swimwear designer Malia Mills has always been focused on empowering women. Having pioneered bra-sized swim separates almost 25 years ago, she creates swimwear collections aimed at making women feel comfortable and powerful. Mills has finally decided to lend her talents to lingerie and just launched a limited-edition collection that celebrates diverse shapes and sizes, much like her famous swimwear.
The collection is inspired by the retro vibes of her swimwear and features 10 pieces that include bras, briefs, and a bodysuit. All the pieces are simple yet gorgeous, with cream and black color blocking, soft mesh, and subtle lace details. Similar to the swimwear, the bras come in two size versions — one for cup sizes A/B/C and the other for sizes C/D/DD. The briefs and bodysuit come in sizes 1-16, and while this isn’t “true plus size,” Mills is passionate about making clothes for real women, and as an independent label, tries to extend her size range when possible.
The campaign features the gorgeous ladies of @bighairgirls, and not only are we thrilled to see unretouched, real women modeling lingerie, the juxtaposition of their rainbow-hued hair with the neutral lingerie makes for one of the best lingerie campaigns we’ve seen. The pieces start at $135 for the briefs, $195 for the bras, and $295 for the bodysuit, and the collection will be available at Mills’ NYC and California stores, as well as online.
