If you were a fan of A Walk to Remember when it first came out, it might shock you to realize that the film hit theaters 16 (!) years ago today. Once you get over that initial shock, though, you’ll definitely want to see how the movie’s stars, Mandy Moore and Shane West, are celebrating the anniversary.
The film, based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel of the same name, featured Moore and West as one of the early 2000s’ most adored teen movie couples, Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter. They were an unlikely but perfect pair. And 16 years later, it looks like the feelings between them are just as sweet as ever.
Both stars took to Instagram to pay tribute to the film, with the This Is Us actress popping up a pic of herself and her on-screen bae in the movie, which she captioned, “Jamie + Landon, 16 years ago, A Walk to Remember. #TBT”
West later posted his own memorable shot of the iconic couple, adding, “….❤️ forever. #TBT”
Fans were definitely up to celebrate the anniversary, leaving enthusiastic comments about how much they still love the movie, despite its — spoiler! — tragic ending.
They’re also still crushing hard on the leading man. One fan wrote, “[Mandy Moore was] great in that movie and West is hot,” while another added, “So dreamy.”
After all this time, it’s still a movie to remember!
