Mandy Moore Has A Walk to Remember to Thank for Her Hair Color
We’re all getting older, you guys. And here’s a milestone you might not want to acknowledge: A Walk to Remember is turning 15 YEARS OLD (what?!) this year. In honor of the film’s anniversary, Mandy Moore (now starring in This Is Us) talked at length about the movie and how its filming completely changed her life — and her hair color.
Although we could have predicted that the movie changed her career, we had no idea what an effect it had on Mandy’s beauty choices. When she took the role, Mandy, then 16 and a blonde, was most known for her pop-tastic songs like “Candy.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly the actress said, “It was transformative because it came at a time in my life when I was only seen from the pop music landscape and through that lens. There was a real significance to coloring my hair.” And, for the past 15 years, she has remained a brunette.
And it’s not just her saying this. In the interview, her co-star Shane West also commented on the hair transformation she made. “I remember that Mandy was very nervous about dying her hair,” he said. “It’s amazing how it really changed her life — well the movie changed all of our lives — but hers especially, aesthetically.”
