Mindy Kaling’s + Beyoncé’s Favorite Swimsuit Designer Now Makes Activewear
What Birkins are to celebrity handbags, Mara Hoffman is to celebrity swimsuits. The designer – who spares no subtly when it comes to patterns and color – has won over the closets of everyone from Mindy Kaling to Beyoncé with her vivid and ultra-fun pieces. While she’s become synonymous with the perfect summer swimsuit, she’s also now delving into activewear. If anything is going to add some excitement to your boring workout routine, this is definitely it.
The pieces aren’t anything like what you already have from Lulu or Athleta. Mara has toned nothing down when translating her designs to gym appropriate pieces. You’ll find pastel + mosaic leggings, multi-colored crop tops, a body suit and the coolest yoga mat we’ve ever seen.
The pieces are meant to be moved in, but if we’re being honest we’d wear most of this stuff whether the gym is on the day’s agenda or not. The embroidered sweatshirt would look super cool paired Jenna Lyons style with slacks and that french terry jumpsuit looks exactly like what we’d want to wear while nursing a brutal hangover.
With prices ranging between $98 for a yoga mat to $268 for a bodysuit, we’re not going to say these are the most affordable additions to your workout wardrobe, but hey, if it inspires you to actually hit up the gym for the first time in months, it could be totally worth the splurge.
