Marble and Copper Lovers, This IKEA Table Hack Is for You
You guys, can you believe we are just about halfway through 2017? If you’re anything like me, a mid-year refresh is *definitely* on the mind. I’ve specifically been thinking about ways to declutter and refresh my home. Perhaps the most simple method (and one of my favorite ways) to achieve a refresh is an IKEA hack. Today’s hack features two home decor trends that the internet has been obsessed with: marble wallpaper and copper walls. To remix these two trends, I decided to do an IKEA hack with these awesome RISSNA Nesting Tables ($119, set of two). Follow along to see how to achieve these ultra luxe vibes. Who knows? You might find that it fits perfectly with your marble or copper wall!
Also, did we mention how versatile these tables are?
SO versatile!
Materials and Tools:
Instructions:
- Build the legs of the tables following the table instructions.
- Spray paint the legs with the metallic copper spray paint.
- Measure and cut the contact paper down to the tabletop sizes.
- Adhere the contact paper onto the surface of the tabletops. Use the flexible smoothing tool to take out any unwanted bubbles.
- Attach the legs to the tabletops following the booklet instructions.
First things first, build out the table legs by following the booklet instructions.
When you’ve built the legs, add a pop of shine with the metallic copper spray paint! Make sure to do this in an open area outside.
While the spray painted legs are drying, measure and cut the contact paper down to the tabletop sizes. Peel off the protective film backing, and adhere the contact paper onto the surface of the tabletops. Use the flexible smoothing tool to take out any unwanted air bubbles.
Pro Tip: If you don’t have a smoothing tool, you can use a credit card or thick plastic board to do the same trick!
Last stretch: Attach the legs to the tabletops by following the booklet instructions.
There ya goooo — your tables are ready for styling!
Place them side by side for a chic coffee table set.
Dannnng, so luxe!
Or place them next to the sofa and stack them to achieve that trendy nesting table look.
So many possibilities!
