This Is How Martha Stewart *Really* Feels About Pumpkin Spice

Each year it seems fall creeps in earlier and earlier, with stores beginning to sell pumpkin spice foods as soon as July Fourth ends, when most of us are still enjoying beach vacations and warm weather. But we know not everyone is a fan of PSL season, and the most surprising hater is none other than the queen of seasonal fare herself, Martha Stewart.

Although it seems Stewart is a fan of pumpkins (see Exhibit A: her recipe for pumpkin spice cake, or Exhibit B: her recipe for pumpkin spice latte cake, or Exhibit C: her recipe for *actual* pumpkin pie spice), she has some ~feelings~ about flannel and scarf-clad PSL fans.

During a recent appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, Cohen asked the domestic mogul her thoughts about pumpkin spice fever, asking her if she thinks pumpkin spice is “delicious,” or “for basic bitches only?” Without skipping a beat, Stewart quipped, “It’s the latter,” breaking all of our pumpkin-loving hearts in one fell swoop.

The host seemed genuinely stunned by her confession, responding, “Wow! Martha Stewart says pumpkin spice is for basic bitches, you guys. I love this — this is the greatest moment of this show ever!”
