Mary-Kate’s Engagement/Wedding Ring Set Is Perfect
When it comes to engagement rings, many brides are going the nontraditional route these days with precious stones including sapphires. And surprisingly, celebrities are also into the trend despite being able to afford diamonds as big as their hands. Back in December, we caught a glimpse of Mary-Kate Olsen’s gold wedding band, but since her wedding to banker Olivier Sarkozy last November, we hadn’t seen her stunner of a sapphire engagement ring paired with it. And we must say the combination is perfect.
People StyleWatch reported that Mary-Kate stepped out in New York with her vintage sapphire and diamond Cartier engagement ring stacked alongside her chic gold wedding band. The engagement ring is obviously a showstopper, so a simple gold band is a great pairing to avoid looking tacky.
According to People, Mary-Kate’s husband bought the vintage 1953 ring at a Sotheby’s Auction for a whopping $81,250. It features a 4-carat, European-cut diamond center stone, as well as 16 blue sapphires and about 1.5 carats of diamond petals around it.
Glad to see Mary-Kate is finally showing off her beautiful ring combo! Check it here.
