Sorry, But You Won’t Be Able to Get a Replica of Meghan Markle’s Ring
Meghan Markle’s fairytale romance with Prince Harry is now official, which means there will be another royal wedding in spring 2018. People have been following Markle’s style for a while, but now every item she touches immediately turns to sold. Similar to the “Kate Effect”, the former actress has inspired people to buy everything from her coats, handbags, boots — and, of course, her engagement ring. Unfortunately, it’s looking like that won’t be possible.
Cleave and Company was the designer behind Markle’s ring, which was crafted with a diamond Prince Harry sourced from Botswana and several smaller diamonds that once belonged to his mother, Princess Diana.
Stephen Connelly, director at C&C, told Associated Press that they’ve been overwhelmed with customers asking for replicas. However, Connelly said, “We’re not going to be making replicas of it. If you want a ring, then we’ll design you a different one.”
So if you were hoping for a lookalike directly from the source, you’re out of luck. Of course, copycats have been cropping up — but a ring this special that contains such one-of-a-kind stones will be extremely difficult to replicate. Long story short — you might as well design your own.
