Meghan Markle Wears One of Kate Middleton’s Go-to Brands for Her First Public Appearance Post-Royal Wedding
It’s only been three days since the royal wedding, but Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have already made their first appearance as husband and wife. The couple postponed their honeymoon to Namibia to attend Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebration today, and we’ve got our first glimpse of the newly-minted Duchess of Sussex after her stunning wedding day… and her outfit choice might surprise you.
The Duchess attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate Harry’s dad, who will turn 70 on November 14. When you’re a real-life prince, celebrations last all year, and the newlyweds were on hand alongside members of the royal family for the soirée.
Instead of the breezy, laidback California style we’ve come to know her for, Markle went traditional for her first big appearance after the wedding, opting for a blush Goat Flavia Silk-Crepe Pencil Dress ($643), featuring sheer long sleeves and a knee-length A-line cut. The brand is a well-known favorite of Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge.
Topping her look off with a coordinating wide-brimmed blush hat designed by Philip Treacy, the former Suits actress donned a sleek low chignon. She kept her accessories simple, but that stunning engagement ring was on full display.
In keeping with royal protocol, the blushing bride wore pantyhose with her blush Tamara Mellon Siren Pumps ($450), adding a similarly hued Wilbur & Gussie clutch instead of her favored oversized totes.
If you’re looking to snag Markle’s sheath dress for yourself, it’s still available online, and it’s currently on sale for a cool $450… for now, that is.
