Meghan Markle Wears Surprising Color for Prince Louis’ Christening
Long before she married Prince Harry in May, we’ve been obsessing over Meghan Markle’s fashion choices, especially because we’re dying to see how her casual cool California style will translate to her new royal life. And while we’ve definitely noticed a shift to soft neutrals, including pink and blush outfits, as well as tricky necklines and sheer tights, the Duchess of Sussex isn’t saying goodbye to bold colors forever. Just take a look at her outfit for Prince Louis’ christening on July 9.

Just last week, the newlywed shocked us all by debuting a sunny, yellow dress at the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge reception. So we couldn’t wait to see what she’d wear for her new nephew’s big day, and she did not disappoint.
Markle wore an olive green Ralph Lauren belted shift dress with a coordinating wide-brimmed Stephen Jones hat and olive pumps. It’s the second American designer in a row for Markle following the yellow design by Brandon Maxwell last week. Prince Harry looked dapper as ever in a classic navy suit.
Head-to-toe olive green is notoriously difficult to pull off, but the duchess looked flawless as per usual, and we’re not at all surprised.
