Meghan Markle Just Mastered This Tricky Spring Trend
At long last, Meghan Markle and husband Prince Harry have made their first public appearance of 2019 as a duo, with the couple visiting the town of Birkenhead, Merseyside on January 14 to meet with local community organizations, according to Kensington Palace. But instead of sticking to traditional drab or dark winter colors, the Duchess of Sussex sported two vibrant hues, giving us all the spring fashion inspo our winter wardrobes desperately need.
Keeping up with Markle’s maternity style has been anything but ordinary though she’s largely chosen structured dresses, classic pumps, and a slew of covetable jackets. Today’s look marks one of her boldest pregnancy looks yet, as she paired a bright red long wide collar wrap coat by Sentaler ($1,395) over a purple Babaton by Aritzia dress ($138), accessorizing with coordinating bright red Stuart Weitzman Leigh pumps ($385) and the latest It-bag, aka the Nina by Gabriela Hearst.
Though her look stayed true to the mama-to-be’s signature style (including her beloved “messy” bun), the pops of red and purple give it a striking twist that is right in line with two of spring 2019’s trickiest trends — neon and color blocking.
If her Sentaler coat looks familiar, it’s because the 37-year-old has sported it before: she rocked the camel version at her first Christmas with the royal family back in 2017.
Luckily, we still have three months of Markle maternity fashion to look forward to, because the Duchess reportedly told the crowds that she’s six months along, according to People. Here’s hoping she blesses us with more bold, bright colors ahead.
